Library markings, etc. through title page and preface page, and on rear paste down. Contents are otherwise very clean and intact, including plates.

London The Trustees of the British Museum Second Edition Cloth - Hard Cover Fair Fair 
All are Ex-Library with usual markings both internal and external. Volume I (1885): 436 pages, plus 32 plates. Cloth covers are loose, with bottom and spine covers almost completely detached. A small worm hole in top edge not affecting text/image. Text block is tight and fairly clean, save for penciled marginalia on a couple page. Volume II (1885): 497 pages, plus 24 plates. Covers are worn and hinges (internal) are broke. There are a few small worm holes on edges, not affecting text/image. First signature (grouping of leaves) with title page, is detached, though in place. Text block is otherwise tight and fairly clean. Volume III (1887): 575 pages, plus 40 plates. Covers are worn and chipped. Hinges are cracked, though solid. Volume remains tight and contents are generally clean and intact. Good working or binding set. Due to the weight of this three volume set, extra charges will be required for priority and/or international shipping.

All three volumes are Ex-Library with usual markings both internal and external. Brown cloth covers are heavily worn and chipped. Hinges cracked. Aside from stated damage, contents intact and generally clean. Volume I (1893): 448 pages, plus 28 plates, plus ads. Text block is cracked near center, with a couple of signatures (page groupings) just before plates, loosened. Volume II (1894): 382, plus 20 plates, plus ads. Volume III (1896): 727, plus 26 plates, plus ads. Good working or binding set. Due to the weight of this three volume set, additional charges will be needed for priority and/or international shipping.

Inked library stamp on cover, and margins of several pages. Covers show a few small chips and tears, though are otherwise intact. Folding map shows a little wear on one corner, though outside of printed borders.

The Ceylon Government Press / National Museums First Edition Fair No Jacket Oblong 4to 
Complete set of three volumes, published in 1952, 1953, & 1955. Volume one is hard bound in cloth covers. 149 pages, plus 34 color plates. A couple plates have stuck and show tears along upper edge not affecting image or lettering. Volume two is soft bound in a red leatherette cover. 100 pages, plus 35 color plates. Covers of volume two are very brittle, chipped, and for the most part missing. Volume three is bound in paper wraps. 121 pages, plus fourteen color plates and seven black and white plates. Corners are bumped, and covers show a few tears at spine ends. Due to size and weight of this three volume set, extra charges will be assessed for priority and/or international shipping.

Dust jacket shows a few chips and small tears over spine, and a little near corners. Lettering on jacket remains good. Dust jacket is now protected in a clear mylar sleeve. London 1877 First Edition Cloth - Hard Cover Fair No Jacket Folio 
96 pages, plus 54 plates. Ex-Department of the Interior, Library with a few stamps on ffep, title page, and preface page, and covered plate on rear paste down. A letter of transmittal is affixed to the front paste down, from the British Museum, dated 1878. Original cloth covers are worn along edges and corners, though gilt stamped lettering on top cover remains bright. Cloth over spine is badly chipped. Both boards are loosened, though remain weekly attached. Text block is just a little shaken and loose, though secure. Contents are otherwise very clean and intact, and all plates remain in very good condition with vibrant illustrations.

141+ pages, plus seven hand colored plates of which four are folding. This is the last scientific work of Prince Maximilian and was derived from his North American tour of 1832-34. The plates were engraved by E. Lange after the sketches of Karl Bodmer. Modern binding with pebbled red leather over spine and gilt stamped lettering. Grey cloth over boards. Covers are lightly bumped at corners. Previous owners book plate on front paste down. There is a small open tear at top edge of title page. Light foxing and offsetting on plates, being heaviest on number III. Images and color remain very bright and plates are attractive.
