Includes chapters on the Pacific Railroad, as well as the individual states/territories, and maps of the United States, showing the railroad system, California/Nevada, Oregon, Washington Territory, Nebraska, Kansas, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Eastern/Western Virginia, North/South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee/Kentucky, Texas, Louisiana, & Arkansas. Folding map of the United States has mis-folds and a three inch closed tear along one fold. Folding maps of California/Nevada and Texas show a little mis-folding with resulting light edge wear. All maps are complete and accounted for, as are the illustration plates. Cloth covers are generally rubbed, and worn along edges, corners, and spine ends. Gilt stamped lettering and decoration are a little rubbed, though remain very clear. Front hinge is a little loosened. Penciled name on blank page at front, and a few blank spaces show penciled and inked notes. Scattered, mostly light, foxing and occasional light soiling/smudges. Text block remains tight.
