Signed by the author and the publisher, and with two strips of fabric from the wings of the Josephine Ford, the plane Commander Byrd flew over the North Pole in May 1926, affixed in a sleeve to the front paste down. 348 pages, plus folding map. Lacking suite of ten photogravure plates and slipcase. Light wear at corners and heel. Book plate of Russel Van Arsdale Lee (U.S. Physician, 1895-1982) on front paste down. Blank front fly leaf shows smudges, and there is a little separation between said fly leaf and the following limitation page. Volume remains fairly tight, and is otherwise clean and intact.
