Price: $7,500.00

Quantity: 1 available

Book Condition: Good+

246 pages, plus large folding map, plus 12 plates, six of which fold out. Contemporary half leather binding, with gilt lettering on spine and marbled paper over boards. Original paper wrap covers are retained. Storm/Graff #42 describes this as "The first important work on the American Bison" and Howes #149 reports this as mildly rare. WorldCat (at the time of this writing in 2018) shows only five copies worldwide, and no auction listings since 1971. Binding shows rubbing along edges, and light wear at covers and ends. Book plates on front end leaves. Original paper covers show slight wear along edges. Occasional light smudges in contents. Folding map shows two, 2 inch, closed tears where tipped in, and only in open spaces of map. Plates remain very nice, though there are small tears on two tissues guards in blank spaces.
